The Ju 87 Stuka is a well known WWII dive bomber, noted for its distinctive inverted gull wings and tactical dive-bombing role. Italeri's kit represents the versions flown by the Italian Regia Aeronautica in the early 1940s, nicknamed "Picchiatello", which served in areas including Malta, North Africa and the Mediterranean theatre.
Praised for its bombing accuracy, the Ju 87 was a core asset in early Blitzkrieg operations. Italy received about 150 examples from Germany and these aircraft featured in a number of wartime missions. The model provides a way to replicate that history on the workbench.
Made for modellers who prefer authentic detail, the 1/48 Italeri kit comes with a super decals sheet for five versions, a photo-etched fret for refined components, and full colour instruction sheets. Assembly requires glue and paints, which are not supplied.
