The H-21 Shawnee, often referred to as the "Flying Banana" because of its distinctive curved fuselage, entered service in the 1950s with the U.S. Army. Its tandem rotor design provided useful lift and transport capability, and it later supported operations in Vietnam for troop and supply movement.
This Italeri H-21C gunship kit captures the armed variant, showcasing the under-nose armament used for ground support. The set includes newly tooled plastic parts, a super decal sheet offering five different versions, photo-etched detailing parts, and colour instruction sheets to assist construction and finishing.
