The Porsche 944, produced between 1982 and 1991, is recognised for its balanced design and engineering. Developed from the 924, the 944 preserved the athletic shape while adding mechanical improvements. The original model used a 2479cc fuel injected engine with 163 horsepower and a transaxle layout for improved weight distribution.
The 944 S variant, arriving in 1987, featured a 16-valve engine rated at 189 horsepower and could achieve 0 to 100 km/h in around 7.2 seconds. The 944 S Cabriolet introduced in 1989 offered an open-top option that appealed across several markets.
The Italeri 1/24 kit represents the 944 S Cabrio with moulded detail and parts arranged for accurate assembly. Hobbyists will find the kit suitable for display builds and for adding period-correct paintwork and interior touches.
