The Ford Escort RS1800 Mk. II is a hallmark of 1970s rallying. First released in 1975, the Mk. II moved to a more squared styling while keeping the mechanical layout of the earlier Mk. I. A range of bodies and engine options meant the Escort suited both everyday drivers and competition teams.
On the international scene the RS1800 achieved prominent finishes. The crew of Waldegard Bjorn and Thorszelius Hans secured second place at the 1979 Monte Carlo Rally and later claimed the championship.
