The Italeri 1/35 M6 Gun Motor Carriage WC-55 offers modellers a compact but historically accurate subject to assemble. Based on the Dodge WC52 chassis, the M6 entered service from late 1942 and was noted for its manoeuvrability. The real vehicle achieved speeds of up to about 90 km/h under the power of the Dodge T-214 six cylinder engine.
Although intended as an anti-tank platform, the 37 mm gun struggled against increasingly heavy armour, and crews repurposed the vehicle for infantry support across Mediterranean, European and Pacific theatres. This kit is a practical way to study those wartime changes while producing a neat display model.
The moulded detail allows a tidy assembly and makes the model suitable for cabinet display or inclusion in a period vignette. Painters will appreciate the clear surfaces for applying camouflage schemes and subtle weathering to suggest operational wear.
