The Italeri 7064S kit represents the AB 40 armoured car, an Italian late 1930s design developed to succeed older Lancia chassis. Notable for its four-wheel drive and dual driver stations, the model reproduces these engineering points together with the turret mounting two 8mm machine guns and an additional rear hull weapon.

Produced in limited quantities historically, some AB 40s were modified for railway patrols and saw service with both Italian and German units. This compact kit is aimed at modellers who favour accurate period subjects and tight display spaces.
