Kyosho brings back a notable model in the Kyosho 30625, merging the Ultima's historic presence with current engineering standards. Originating in the late '80s and proven at the 1987 Electric Off-Road World Championship, the platform now benefits from component upgrades for today's tracks.
The 1/10 Ultima EP 2WD keeps the original monocoque concept but now uses aircraft-grade A6061T6 aluminium to stiffen the main structure. The result is better cornering consistency and a dependable base for setup changes.
Using a double wishbone arrangement similar to the OPTIMA lineage, the suspension accepts a wide range of spring and damping setups. Large oil shocks, a reinforced shock tower and metal-bushed steering components give repeatable handling across varied surfaces.
Trimmed for modern use, the gearbox features a slipper clutch to limit shock transmission and a 48-pitch gear module to reduce drivetrain losses. The fitted motor guard helps protect the motor during tight racing and rough landings.
The Ultima EP 2WD delivers a useful mix of period-correct styling and practical upgrades, making it suitable for collectors and active club racers seeking a distinctive platform.
