The Kyosho Plazma MKIII Limited remains a reference point in 1/12 on-road circles. This updated edition preserves the original handling traits while introducing material and drivetrain refinements to suit competitive running on present day circuits.
Released in 1987, the Plazma MKIII Limited became known for nimble performance despite being 2WD. The revived model retains the core layout and gains a high quality ball-differential similar to that found in the Fantom EP-4WD Ext, plus carbon fibre upgrades to increase stiffness where it matters.
The main carbon fibre chassis remains central to the design, and the upper plate now uses carbon fibre rather than the older FRP material. The upgraded rear ball-diff improves traction modulation and the front retains a king-pin and coil layout with adjustable caster to tune steering response.
Focus on small setup moves: adjust front caster for better turn-in, alter rear damper spring tension to control rotation, and fine-tune the ball-diff for predictable throttle traction. Accurate assembly yields the most consistent handling.
With its blend of classic dynamics and selected modern enhancements, the Plazma MKIII Limited is equally at home as a display model and a tuned track machine for enthusiasts who enjoy vintage handling.
