Mini-Z AWD pinion kit

This compact aluminium pinion kit is tailored for Kyosho Mini-Z AWD chassis and includes the common pinion sizes used across Mini-Z AWD motor assemblies. With 15T, 17T, 19T and 21T options you can adjust final drive ratio without changing the spur or motor unit.

Build and intent: made from an aluminium alloy to provide better wear characteristics than many stamped steel alternatives while maintaining low rotating mass. The parts are intended as direct replacements or as simple gearing options to tune acceleration and top speed characteristics.

Fitting procedure: detach the motor from the mount, loosen the existing pinion retaining hardware, mount the chosen pinion and set the mesh so the spur and pinion run smoothly, then secure and confirm endplay. Use small hex tools and controlled torque to avoid damaging motor shaft threads, and spin the drivetrain slowly to check for smooth engagement.

Setup tips: picking a lower tooth count such as 15T will tend to increase top speed but reduce acceleration, whereas higher counts like 21T boost low-end torque and acceleration yet may limit peak speed; choose according to the course layout and motor gearing plan.
