Delrin middle gear introduction

Designed as an aftermarket swap for Kyosho motorcycle models, this Delrin middle gear provides a low-friction alternative to harder plastics in the gearbox. It replaces the centre gear in the transmission stack to reduce noise and improve mesh smoothness with mating metal gears.

Installation is aimed at model technicians and experienced hobbyists: remove the gearbox cover to expose the middle gear, install the Delrin replacement, set alignment with the pinion and spur gears, and confirm correct backlash while turning the drivetrain by hand prior to final tightening. Use thread locker where specified and avoid excessive torque that can deform plastic components.

As part of tuning and routine maintenance the Delrin middle gear helps minimise wear on metal gears and reduces audible gear noise. Frequent checks of tooth condition, bearing fit, and modest lubrication of the mesh will help prolong service life and keep power transfer reliable.
