Oval alloy shim for gearbox alignment

Included are two aluminium oval washers for RC Kyosho motorcycle gearbox assemblies, supplied as a 2 piece set. The oval design serves as a locating shim where keyed or offset holes prevent a standard round washer from seating correctly.

For hobby use, these alloy shims provide steadier thickness and firmer seating than thin stamped washers, which helps when refining gear mesh, cutting down lateral play, or lining up small spur and pinion combinations in motorcycle gearboxes.

To fit, make sure mating surfaces are clean, position the oval washer so the offset aligns with the keyed hole, then reassemble the gearbox hardware ensuring the washer is flush. Check gear mesh and endplay once assembled and make minor adjustments as required.

This is an RC-scale spare meant for Kyosho motorcycle gearbox layouts as stated in the title. Do not use these parts in any full-size vehicle application.

They help reduce side play by providing a consistent spacer thickness and firmer seating, which can improve engagement between spur and pinion.
Match the washer profile and offset to your gearbox mounting pattern and verify the outer dimensions before final assembly to ensure correct orientation.
After installation run the gearbox slowly to check for binding, then recheck torque and mesh after a short run to confirm stability.
