Introducing the Yokomo BD12 Touring Chassis

The Yokomo BD12 is a concerted effort to refine handling in 1/10 on-road touring cars, delivering a reduced centre of gravity and improved dynamic balance. Launched for the 2023-24 competition season, the BD12 targets stable, repeatable behaviour on race circuits.

Structural and Suspension Refinements

At the core of the BD12 is an updated motor mount that boosts pitching rigidity, working alongside the split upper deck and A.T.F active top deck flex to tighten turn-in and mid-corner control. Shock bodies have been shortened and spring holders now accept bearings to remove spring twist and maintain linear suspension movement.

Weight Centralisation and Adjustability

The chassis benefits from a carbon plate that increases pitching stiffness and a 90T spur gear that contributes to a lower centre of gravity. Forward motor placement helps centralise mass for enhanced rotation, and the new front shock tower with variable rear shock angle offers broad setup options for differing track conditions.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1/10
  • Upper Deck: Split with motor mount integration
  • Shock System: Shortened with bearing-equipped spring holders
  • Front Shock Tower: Redesigned with variable positioning
  • Spur Gear: 90T for lower center of gravity
  • Chassis: Reinforced with carbon plate for rigidity

The Yokomo BD12 gives experienced racers a platform that responds to careful setup, combining rigidity and adjustability to help extract consistent lap times.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Yes, with correct setup the BD12's low centre of gravity and active deck flex assist in managing tight corners and quick direction changes common on technical layouts.
A 2S LiPo pack is recommended to match the intended weight distribution and performance characteristics of the chassis.
Keeping bearings clean and lubricated is essential to retain the linear response of the shortened shock system and to prevent loss of precision in the drivetrain and suspension.
