This 1/12 plastic assembly model represents the 1974 McLaren M23 and is produced for display-focused builds where precise assembly and finishing are priorities.

Introduced in 1973, the M23 succeeded the M19 and was developed through the mid 1970s. It delivered strong results during 1974 and continued to race in updated forms, reflecting the period's blend of aerodynamic and mechanical advancement.

The kit reproduces body panels with a removable front cowling, cockpit fairing and induction box to permit staged viewing and access to internals. A steering linkage ties the steering wheel to the front wheels so you can display steering movement after assembly.

The Ford-Cosworth DFV V8 is modelled with fuel lines and ignition lead detail. Front and rear suspensions include movable parts and coil springs to represent the car's suspension geometry accurately.

Photo-etched parts are provided for brake discs and cockpit fittings, and seatbelt areas use cloth-effect decals with metal buckles. Decals cover two car numbers and synthetic rubber slick tyres are supplied for period-correct presentation. Painting and modelling tools are required to complete the build.
