This 1/20 scale plastic kit reproduces the McLaren M23 of 1976, concentrating on faithful external lines and an exposed engine bay for display use.
The M23 first appeared in 1973 to replace the M19 and remained competitive through 1976, with the M26 introduced in 1977. It contributed to McLaren's Constructors success in 1974 and supported Drivers Championship victories in 1974 and 1976. Drivers who campaigned the car include James Hunt, Emerson Fittipaldi and Mike Hailwood, the latter securing a podium finish in 1974.
The kit captures the M23's bodywork and monocoque-style chassis, and includes a scale representation of the Ford-Cosworth DFV V8. Once built, the front and upper panels can be removed to show the cockpit and engine bay. Cartograf decals are provided together with tyres, metal transfers and a skirt sheet to recreate period appearance. The kit follows conventional plastic-model assembly for modellers focused on both external fidelity and accessible engine detail.
An accurate reissue designed for model builders and collectors who appreciate external precision and visible engine-bay detail.
