The Trumpeter Mitsubishi A6M2b Model 21 Zero Fighter in 1:24 scale is engineered as a large-format plastic assembly kit for static display and historical modelling. It is intended for modellers who prioritise external accuracy and high visible detail at display scale.
The real Mitsubishi A6M2b Type 21 was an early operational version of the A6M Zero produced before mid-1942. Introduced after initial trials in 1940, the Type 21 featured naval adaptations including folding wingtips and an arrestor hook, and it entered combat operations in China in August 1940. The A6M2b contributed significantly to early Pacific operations until later variants became dominant and many units were repurposed.
The kit recreates the Type 21 configuration with components intended to reproduce external fittings and period service markings. Included are nine sprues, separate aileron and flap linkages with metal shafts, photo-etched hinge details, and rubber tyres. The decal sheet offers markings for an Akagi unit from the Pearl Harbor action. Engine and sprung landing gear details are represented for display, and instrument panel film parts are included for realistic cockpit facings.
A highly detailed, large-scale kit of the early A6M2b Type 21, ideal for advanced modellers and collectors dedicated to accurate static reproductions.
