Replacement 21-Tooth Second Gear for MRX-5

The Arrowmax AM-MRX5-H0762 2nd. Gear 21T is a replacement pinion for the MUGEN MRX-5 gearbox, produced from 7075-T6 aluminium with a hard-coat finish to enhance surface durability without changing the basic tooth form.

Available as part of a tooth-count family, the 21T option makes swapping ratios straightforward when tuning launch and top speed for different tracks. Engineered to mesh with the MRX-5 spur gear, it is intended as a drop-in where shaft and gearform match the MRX-5 original.

Fitting notes: this is a gearbox-level replacement that requires normal disassembly and reassembly; set mesh and endplay to the chassis recommendation and inspect the spur and bearings when changing gears to maintain reliability.

Is this suitable for competition use?

The hard-coated 7075 construction gives improved wear resistance for regular racing, but inspect gearing and bearings frequently under race conditions to avoid failures.

Will it require shim changes?

Shim changes are rarely needed if the gear matches MRX-5 geometry, however re-check mesh and endplay and adjust shims as required during installation.

Any recommended checks after fitting?

After fitting, spin the drivetrain by hand and run briefly at low power to confirm quiet meshing, then re-torque fasteners and re-check mesh after a short run.
