Pushrod cover for tidy routing and light protection

The O.S. Engine OS44866100 pushrod cover is intended to tidy the pushrod area on FS-series glow engines and to offer basic protection from dirt. It is designed as a visible accessory that helps keep linkages clear and improves the finished appearance of scale engine bays.

Practically, the cover forms a small flange around the pushrod aperture that directs the pushrod ends away from nearby components such as throttle linkages and engine mounts. It is supplied as an add-on cap to be fitted to existing openings, not as an internal replacement part.

Fitting usually involves positioning the cover over the engine's pushrod access, then securing it with the engine's existing fasteners or any supplied screws, using standard RC tools. There is no need to alter engine tuning when installing the cap; just check for interference to ensure the pushrod retains full travel.

The material choice and finish favour simple workshop handling and a tidy look; treat this as a cosmetic and protective accessory rather than a performance item. Fit it during maintenance to reduce debris near the pushrod and to keep linkages accessible for adjustments.

After fastening, cycle the throttle and move the pushrod through its full travel by hand to confirm there is no rubbing or restriction. If any contact is detected, loosen and reposition the cap until clearance is satisfactory.
The aluminium-style finish is intended for workshop durability and appearance. With normal use it will withstand handling, but inspect for wear or burrs that could affect linkage movement and replace if necessary.
In most cases the cover can be fitted with the engine in place using common hand tools. If access is restricted by surrounding components, it may be easier to remove the engine first for a clean installation.
