This Yokomo YX-40S shaft and piston kit is an RC-scale replacement intended for the pitching damper on 1/12 YRX 12 competition cars. The package includes both two-hole and three-hole pistons so you can alter flow characteristics to suit handling. The part targets use on YR-X12 and YR-X1219 chassis.

Assembly is routine for modelers experienced with 1/12 dampers: detach the damper, dismantle the shock body, replace the piston and shaft, then reassemble using your preferred oil and shim configuration. Verify seal condition and perform a few test runs to confirm the damping setup.

Tuning note: selecting the 2-hole piston increases restriction and firms pitch response while the 3-hole piston eases flow for quicker recoveries. Adjust oil grade and piston position to fine tune handling for different track surfaces.
