The RD-630BK is a lightweight spur gear hub made for Yokomo RD, SD and MD drift platforms. With a larger diameter the hub increases the contact surface with the spur gear, helping to stabilise rotation and cut down vibration during steady throttle and steering control.
Because it positions the spur gear closer to the gear case than some older hubs, the top shaft experiences reduced load during sudden acceleration, giving a more direct drive sensation. Replacing series-standard hubs such as Y4-630A, Y2-630PA, or Y2-630RA will reveal a different set-screw fixing position.
For chassis that require the alternate fixing position, Yokomo suggests fitting the RD-631 top shaft to secure correct set-screw alignment. The RD-630BK is supplied as a tuning component to enhance spur engagement and drivetrain feel rather than to alter gear ratios.
As a drop-in hop-up for compatible Yokomo drift chassis, the RD-630BK targets improved spur hold and reduced vibration; pair with the RD-631 top shaft when replacing earlier hubs that use a different set-screw location.
