Rear damper component overview and precautions

The Yokomo YS-4L-8 R. Shock Body is intended as a replacement housing for rear damper units on off-road R/C vehicles. It locates internal components and helps keep piston travel and seal placement consistent during servicing.

Install this part when the original body shows signs of wear or when swapping parts during suspension setup. Follow standard damper servicing steps: drain the oil, remove the cap and shaft, transfer internal parts carefully, then check seal seating before refilling. This component is made for R/C model use only and should not be applied to real vehicles.

For compatibility checks, compare the YS-4L-8 form factor to your existing shock to ensure correct fit. The shock body improves the ease of inspection and repeatability in tuning but does not change piston dimensions or valve characteristics alone. On reassembly, confirm there are no burrs, that O-rings are correctly positioned, and that shaft clearance is appropriate to maintain consistent damping.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Compare the YS-4L-8 body shape and mounting points with your existing shock; matching form factor and cap interfaces are required for correct fitment.
You can reuse seals if they are undamaged and sit correctly, but replacing worn seals during body swaps is recommended to prevent leaks and ensure consistent damping.
Verify that pistons move freely without binding, confirm O-ring seating, and inspect the shaft and cap threads to ensure a leak-free rebuild before refilling oil.
