Overview of Rear Shock Coil

This part is a rear shock coil supplied as a replacement for hobby R/C rear shock assemblies. It is presented for use in common shock cartridges and towers when the spring outer diameter and seat arrangement are compatible.

The coil serves to control rebound, compression and rear squat behaviour; changing spring rate or preload will influence ride height, midstroke support and resistance to bottoming. Treat the spring as a tuning component to be matched with other suspension settings for best results.

Basic installation: detach the shock from the model, reduce preload, slide the spring over the shaft and reset retainers to the chosen preload. Inspect the shaft and mounting points for wear and confirm full free stroke after fitment to ensure no binding is present.

Tuning recommendations: modify preload to alter ride height and initial stiffness, select spring rates according to surface and driving style, and always combine spring swaps with damper oil and piston tuning to preserve consistent behaviour across the full travel.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Check that the spring seat diameter matches the retainer, look for any bends or nicks on the shock shaft, and ensure the free length allows your intended preload without contacting other components.
Heavier springs demand more midstroke support and may require heavier oil or different pistons to keep damping in balance; lighter springs often work better with thinner oil. Tune both together for consistent response.
Refer to the product listing for compatible front/rear part numbers or contact the seller for matching sets. Using matched springs helps maintain balanced handling across the axle.
