Rear spring tuned for traction and balance

This Yokomo YOKRP-084BK rear spring is an RC-scale replacement engineered for off-road suspension duties. Supplied as a single-purpose coil for installation on compatible rear shock assemblies, it provides straightforward springing for rear suspension without implying exact model fitment.

To install: remove the shock from the chassis if helpful, back off preload, slide the spring over the shaft and locate it on the spring perch, then reset preload and refit. Confirm that the spring free length and inner diameter match your shock's retainer and shaft before final installation.

Spring selection affects rear-end behaviour, traction and rebound. Combine these springs with the correct shock oil viscosity, preload adjustments and travel limits to reach the desired handling balance. Make measured, incremental changes and test on representative surfaces to see how rate and preload change corner entry and traction.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Yes, selecting an appropriate rear spring can increase contact and control on loose surfaces; pair with suitable preload and oil to fine tune how the car transfers weight under cornering.
These steel coils are built for regular off-road use, but inspect for wear or deformation after heavy impacts and replace if you notice loss of free length or uneven seating.
Start by setting preload for the desired ride height, then adjust oil to control rebound; heavier oil smooths return while lighter oil speeds it up. Tweak one variable at a time and record results.
