Spur Gear DP48/87T for Use with YZ-4SF

This spur gear is offered as a replacement for YZ-4SF series chassis and is intended for dual pad slipper installations in 1/10 scale RC vehicles. The component matches the DP48 designation and carries 87 teeth, consistent with the 48 pitch tooth spacing in the specification.

Fitted to the slipper hub, the gear transfers motor torque through the slipper mechanism into the gearbox while allowing slip under overload conditions. During assembly make sure the gear mesh with the pinion is set correctly and inspect the slipper pads and preload to sustain reliable engagement.

Setup guidance: the 87T spur determines the effective driven ratio alongside the motor pinion; altering spur or pinion tooth counts will change acceleration and top speed, so replace gears as matched sets and recheck slipper tuning after modifications.

Compatibility

  • B-YZ4SF
  • B-YZ4SF2-1
  • MOR-010
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
An 87T spur lowers gearing compared with smaller spurs, generally improving in-gear acceleration at the expense of top speed; lap time effects depend on track layout and motor selection, so test different pinion sizes to find an optimal balance.
Set pinion engagement so teeth contact smoothly across the face without binding. Use a feeler or paper method to achieve minimal backlash and avoid high spots that lead to noise or wear.
Regularly inspect the spur teeth and slipper pads for wear, check for any loosening of mounting screws, and confirm the gear mesh remains correct after running sessions.
