Specifically produced for Serpent 1/18 scale cars including the 966 and 977, the Serpent 903601 aluminium CVD driveshaft set is a race-oriented upgrade. Each shaft is machined from hard-anodized 7075-T6 aluminium and laser-engraved with its length and the Serpent emblem for reliable identification.
The aluminium shafts are approximately 50% lighter than spring-steel equivalents, cutting rotational inertia to enhance acceleration and braking modulation. The front set weighs about 7.15 grams while the rear set is roughly 7.80 grams, useful figures for tuning handling on short runs.
These shafts trade extra toughness for lightness and are therefore best used in qualifying or short races where low rotating mass matters most. For lengthy finals or abrasive tracks, switch back to spring-steel driveshafts to ensure robustness and avoid mid-race failures.
