Increase Rear Traction on Project 4X

The Serpent 401747 RRS Short Links Set is developed for the Project 4X Touring Car to raise rear grip and improve stability. Precision aluminium parts help maintain consistent behaviour lap after lap.

Effect of Link Length on Handling

Fitting shorter RRS links changes the suspension geometry to favour more rear traction, which can improve corner exit and mid-corner balance. The kit supports two measured positions: 37.5mm via the inside hole and 42mm via the outside hole for straightforward tuning choices.

Included Components

  • 2x Balljoint-4-5-Short
  • 2x Ball Joint-4-5
  • 2x Camberlink-Rod-Aluminium
  • 2x Screw Roundhead-Allen-M3x6
  • 2x Rear-Tie Rod-Holder
They install directly on Project 4X layouts, but you should check balljoint condition and screw torque. Minor setup tweaks to toe and dampers often follow the change.
Better rear traction can alter load distribution and may change wear patterns slightly. Monitor tyre condition and adjust camber or toe as needed after fitting.
The links are a mechanical upgrade and can benefit both stock and modified cars. Tuning priorities differ by class, so test changes within your class rules and settings.
Change only one variable at a time. Start with the inside hole, record lap times and handling notes, then try the outside hole and adjust damping in small steps.
Regularly check balljoint play and screw tightness, clean pivot areas after running, and replace any worn joints to preserve consistent handling.
