The Serpent 500010 Spyder SRX4 brings a race-oriented 1/10 4WD layout to drivers who prioritise setup control. It is capable across dirt, clay, grass, astro and carpet and was developed with adjustability in mind.
Chassis Construction and Suspension Layout
A 2.5mm carbon fibre chassis paired with composite side plates forms the backbone of the Spyder SRX4, providing controlled flex and durability. Carbon fibre shock towers front and rear allow refined shock positioning for precise handling balance.
Robust composite lower arms and aluminium mounting brackets give you a broad scope for suspension tuning. The anti-roll bars improve mid corner composure while the front kick-up reduces landing impact to keep the buggy settled.
Drive Train and Engine Mounting Approach
The model uses a dual belt-driven system for efficient torque transfer, with Kevlar-reinforced belts that stand up to track debris. The slipper clutch fitted with friction pads lets you adapt power delivery to suit grip and track layout.
The motor secures to a 3mm CNC machined 7075 T6 aluminium plate which also functions as a heat sink, helping to control motor temperature during sustained running.
Handling Customisation and User Experience
Adjustable wing angles and steering settings let drivers tune responsiveness and rear grip to personal preference. The modular nature of the design makes incremental changes easy to test and evaluate on the track.
