Rear Ballast Upgrade for the SRX8 with Serpent 600838

The Serpent 600838 Brass Upright Weights are a compact upgrade for the Cobra SRX8 that add 15 grams to the rear uprights. They are fitted to the underside of the rear aluminium uprights to concentrate mass where it aids traction on slick surfaces.

Rear-Focused Weighting for Cleaner Handling

Placing additional brass mass low at the rear helps reduce the effective centre of gravity and increases rear end grip. This yields more composed handling and can help the SRX8 maintain traction through corners and on throttle application.

Fits Pre-Threaded 7075 T6 Uprights with Included Hardware

Fitment is straightforward since the Cobra SRX8 rear uprights are machined from 7075 T6 aluminium and include threads for these weights. A small amount of threadlock is advised to keep the fixings secure, and the required screws are supplied with the kit.

They shift a small amount of mass to the rear, improving traction without a drastic overhaul of the car's balance; test on your local track to evaluate the effect.
Aftermarket uprights may differ in hole size or thread pitch, so confirm compatibility before fitting; some uprights might need adapters or re-tapping to accept the weights.
Brass is corrosion resistant compared to steel, but regular cleaning and inspection will keep the mounting area free of dirt and ensure secure fitment.
It is sensible to check ride height, droop and shock settings after adding rear ballast, as small setup tweaks can optimise handling with the new weight distribution.
