Sealing function and installation notes

The O.S. Engine OS29122540 silencer gasket o-ring is an RC-scale replacement designed for use in silencer and muffler assemblies on nitro engines. It creates a seal between silencer parts or between the silencer and engine to prevent exhaust leakage that can disrupt idle and throttle behavior.

To install: remove the silencer, clean the mating faces of carbon and residue, seat the o-ring correctly in the groove or on the mating face, and refit with the original fastenings. Ensure the o-ring is not twisted and that the contact surfaces are clean to maintain an even seal.

Maintenance guidance: a degraded o-ring permits exhaust blow-by, which may produce erratic idling, poor throttle response, and shifting needle requirements. Replacing the gasket o-ring during routine servicing helps maintain steady exhaust back-pressure and dependable engine performance.
