Front CVD replacement

The SSLA1280FHA front CVD drive shaft is an aftermarket replacement intended for TRAXXAS Slash 1/10 4x4 models. It uses stainless steel 304 joint cores and an aluminium 6061-T6 body to deliver corrosion resistance while keeping rotating mass low at the front.

Notable build details include 304 stainless material at the axle joint cores to resist corrosion and a thicker shaft profile versus the original part to increase wear resistance. The machined aluminium housing accepts the joint assembly and is supplied in several finishes for coordinated rebuilds.

Silicone O-rings are seated around the joint to absorb impact loads on landings, and the pivot components are enclosed within the shaft to limit debris ingress and direct hits.

Small hardware called out in the assembly includes 3mm steel hex shims, M4x2.5x11 and 3x3 screws, and silicone O-rings, with the 3mm hex shim noted as optional depending on wheel hex fitment.

Fitting notes: change one side at a time to keep alignment, check spline engagement and wheel hex seating before final torque, and run the suspension through its full travel to ensure no binding occurs.

This front CVD is suitable when you want improved corrosion resistance and a tougher shaft profile for Slash 4x4 applications while maintaining factory geometry and driveline behaviour.
