The Tamiya 12048 Ferrari 312B captures the character of the 1970s Grand Prix car at 1/12 scale with a selection of fine photo-etched parts for realistic detail. The kit is intended for modellers who appreciate mechanical accuracy and a hands-on build. This issue follows the last major release from 1998.
The model includes carefully modelled front and rear suspension that can articulate for display. The nose cowling is removable to display internal features, and steerable front wheels combine with synthetic rubber tyres that reflect period tread patterns. Photo-etched components provide crisp details such as seatbelt hardware, brake discs and radiator elements.
Included metal transfers and seatbelt stickers add micro-detail, while supplied vinyl tubing stands in for ignition wiring. A driver figure is part of the kit, and Cartograf decal sheets give options for liveries used by Jacky Ickx, Clay Regazzoni and Mario Andretti. The finished model measures 432mm long and makes a substantial display model.
