The CX500 made its first in 1980 on IFMA trade show in Cologne, Germany. The Honda CX500 Turbo, that has been released in 1981, was the entire world?s first turbo-charged motorcycle. Turbocharged machines offered greater power and torque for greater performance, and caused a delay in throttle effect during acceleration. The delay in throttle response delivered technical challenges for turbocharged motorcycles. Honda and IHI (Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries) overcame this matter through computerized fuel injection to provide the engine because of the optimal quantity of gas constantly. The CFI changed the V2 OHV motor, which produced 48hp and 4.1kg/m of torque into a high performance motor with 78hp with 7.5kg/m of torque. Other advanced level consist of a cowling, Honda?s Pro-Link back suspension system, and a 4-step adjustable anti nose plunge front side suspension system. The CX500 was capable of a maximum rate of over 120mph.
