Detailed 1/12 Honda RC211V Replica (Valencia 2003) - Tamiya 14097

This is a 1/12 plastic model kit that recreates the 2003 Honda RC211V as it appeared at Valencia and is tailored to modellers focused on display precision.

The RC211V used a V5 engine configuration in Honda's prototypical race machines of the early 2000s. In 2003 the design paired this compact power unit with a chassis optimised for high-speed circuits. For the Valencia meeting a retro paint approach was applied and a triple-exit exhaust layout was trialed; the race also represented a notable final competitive appearance for the rider connected to that season before a subsequent team move.

Kit details are provided separately from the historical summary. The model reproduces the Valencia-specific livery with Cartograf decals and includes mid-season components such as the triple-exit exhaust without silencers. Frame and unit pro-link suspension are shown with metal-plated parts. Engine detailing mirrors the V5 layout and a metallic clutch cover is supplied. The upper cowl, seat cowl and tank cover are fitted with small screws so they can be removed after assembly. The finished footprint is approximately 172 mm long and 50 mm wide.

  • Overall width: 50 mm
  • Assembly: Plastic model kit

A precise 1/12 scale kit that records the Valencia livery and a mid-season exhaust change, suited to modellers preparing display-standard results.

A sharp hobby knife, fine sandpaper, precision tweezers, small screwdrivers and good plastic cement are recommended for neat assembly and detail work.
Paint major subassemblies before final assembly, mask edges carefully for the Valencia livery, and apply decals after the base clearcoat is fully cured.
Soak decals briefly, slide into position with a soft brush, use a setting solution for tight surfaces, then seal with a clearcoat once dry.
Avoid excessive handling, fit plated parts gently, and use microfibre cloths when adjusting to prevent abrasion to the finish.
Upper and seat cowls and the tank cover are attached with small screws so they can be removed for maintenance, display adjustments, or further detailing.
