The Tamiya 14098 kit recreates the 2004 Yamaha YZR-M1, the bike Valentino Rossi rode to success in his debut Yamaha season. The model reflects the important updates introduced that year, such as the revised swing arm and the aluminium twin-spar deltabox frame that influenced the bike's behaviour on track.
Rossi's switch to Yamaha in 2004 was pivotal. The YZR-M1 used a 990cc liquid-cooled 4-cylinder engine tuned for improved traction and quicker response, and the kit represents those features via detailed engine and chassis components.
The Tamiya 14098 provides a faithful 1/12 static model with a compact in-line 4-cylinder engine. The removable bodywork reveals the engine and transmission, and the kit includes synthetic rubber tyres plus poly caps to aid fitting.
