This 1/12 scale model kit reproduces the Ducati Desmosedici in plastic, with emphasis on visible engine architecture and the tubular truss-frame for shelf display.
Ducati developed the Desmosedici as a compact V4 arrangement by pairing two 90 degree L-twin banks within a common crankcase. Introduced in 2003, the layout combined a 16-valve V4 with a tubular steel truss-frame and an engine-mounted swingarm pivot. Early riders such as Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss campaigned the machine, recording competitive performances at circuits including Suzuka and Catalunya in the 2003 season.
The kit focuses on external mechanical accuracy. Injection-molded components depict the truss-frame and the V4 layout, and the rear suspension mounting mirrors the engine-attached swingarm arrangement. Control lines are simulated with plastic tubing, while the tyres are synthetic rubber formed as slicks. Side and seat cowlings can be removed post-assembly to expose the engine area. Cartograf decals provide two race liveries for No.65 and No.12. Certain white sponsor marking decals have been excluded by design.
Suited to modellers and collectors who prioritise faithful external detailing and displayable engine presentation at 1/12 scale.
