Collector replica: Tamiya 14110 Ajinomoto Honda NSR250 '90 in 1/12

This 1/12 scale plastic assembly kit presents the Ajinomoto Honda NSR250 '90 as a faithful external replica intended for display and collection. Masahiro Shimizu competed in the 250cc class through the late 1980s and early 1990s, winning the All-Japan Championship in 1987 and racing internationally with Ajinomoto sponsorship. The NSR250 was Honda's competitive two-stroke 250cc racer, notable for its compact V-twin layout and race-focused chassis engineering. Shimizu achieved frequent top-10 finishes and recorded a second-place at the 1990 British Grand Prix. Clear plastic cowlings are supplied so builders can choose transparent panels to reveal chassis detail or paint them for a finished look. Small precision screws secure the cowlings, engine and wheels, making staged displays and component removal possible without structural compromise. The rear suspension uses a metal coil spring for improved scale authenticity, and the tyres are solid synthetic rubber to mimic racing tyre texture. Cartograf decals are provided, including the set for the perforated side cowlings that match the machine campaigned to second place at the 1990 British GP.

A precise 1/12 scale exterior reproduction aimed at hobbyists and collectors who value accurate livery and presentation-ready construction features.

Yes. The included Cartograf decals and the moulded details replicate the race livery and perforated side cowlings used on the 1990 British GP bike.
The kit is intended for modellers with some experience who want display-grade results; beginners can build it but should allow extra time for finishing and masking work.
The clear plastic cowlings are robust when handled carefully; avoid abrasive cleaners and use gentle adhesive techniques to prevent stress marks.
A metal coil spring in the rear suspension is fitted to enhance visual realism compared with moulded-only components.
While the kit is complete as supplied, advanced builders sometimes add aftermarket detailing for closer inspection-level realism; the base kit gives an accurate external presentation out of the box.
