Scale Recreation of the Historic Honda RC166

The Tamiya 14127 reproduces the Honda RC166 GP Racer that helped secure the 1966 Road Racing World Championship, a bike associated with Mike Hailwood's ten race wins. This 1/12 scale kit highlights the six-cylinder powerplant and the characteristic six-pipe exhaust arrangement of the period.

Detailing and Display Options

Clear parts in the kit permit display of internal assemblies, enhancing the visual impact of the finished model. The set includes solid rubber tyres with period triangular tread, along with metal transfers and photo-etched components to achieve a high level of authenticity.

This is just to let you know just how impressed I was to receive my order in perfect condition and It was all due to the fantastic packing and shipping preparation you went to, a wonderful effort and, it was well protected. Ha ahah, in fact, I had trouble
Build time varies with experience; expect several evenings to a few weekends to assemble, paint and apply transfers carefully for best results.
Light weathering can add realism for display, but many collectors prefer a clean, museum-style finish to showcase the clear parts and transfers.
Most clear pieces fit as moulded but may require gentle trimming and test fitting to avoid stress marks and ensure a neat join.
Aftermarket decal sheets are available for more period variations or finer markings, and they can be used in place of or alongside the kit decals.
