Scale Model of the Kawasaki Z1300 1,286cc Inline-6 Engine

Launched in 1979, the Kawasaki Z1300 featured a 1,286cc liquid-cooled inline-6 DOHC engine that produced about 120hp, could reach approximately 220 km/h and managed 0-400m in near 12 seconds. This Tamiya 16023 kit reproduces that engine at 1/6 scale, allowing careful study of its mechanical features and external layout.

Assembly and Visual Details

The model recreates core components such as the radiator, air cleaner and drive shaft, and includes both fine fasteners and larger parts like the cylinder head cover and triple carburetors. Parts come in black plastic with chrome and matte plated elements to simulate metal surfaces, together with a mesh stone guard and a synthetic rubber shaft boot. The engine is intended as a display piece and is mounted on the supplied stand which carries a specification sticker.

Really pleased with models ,and even more pleased with the efficient delivery (4 days) EXCELLENT THANK YOU.
The kit focuses on external and mechanical accuracy at 1/6 scale, reproducing major features like the triple carburetors, head cover and ancillary items to present a convincing engine replica.
Many builders apply paint, subtle weathering and panel shading to enhance realism. Use fine brushes or an airbrush and test colours on spare parts before applying to the main assembly.
Assembly includes numerous small components and careful finishing, so it is best suited to modellers with some prior kit experience rather than absolute beginners.
