The Honda Monkey became a pop culture mini-bike after its launch at Tama Tech in 1961, noted for the red frame and white tank aesthetic. To mark its history, Honda released a 2000 Special limited to 3,000 units that is still admired by enthusiasts.
Tamiya's 1/6 kit reproduces the 2000 Special with faithful parts and proportions. The finished model is 224mm long, 100mm wide and 175mm tall, and includes a scaled 49cc SOHC engine. Foldable handlebars, metal spring suspension and multiple decal options add to the authenticity.
The model is well suited to custom finishing, with two optional custom parts provided including a spare muffler option. Its level of detail makes it a fine display model for collectors or a detailed project for seasoned builders.
