The Tamiya 18072 Fire Dragon Premium restores the classic 1988 look and fits it to the reliable VS chassis for robust running. This kit is well suited to enthusiasts who value period-correct appearance alongside usable chassis performance. The Fire Dragon Jr. shell is moulded in metallic red ABS to give a vivid display finish, and the VS chassis is supplied in metallic gray for a tidy mechanical base.

Build and Performance

The model includes a Type 130 motor and a 4.2:1 gear ratio, offering a balanced compromise between acceleration and top speed. Large-diameter fluorescent pink wheels with black spike tyres deliver solid grip and stability across different track types. Low-friction black rollers are fitted to aid cornering and maintain consistent lap times.
