Jr Tyxiv ME Chassis Details for Tamiya 18664
The Jr Tyxiv design, created with an external design partner, is supplied as a 1/32 Mini 4WD assembly kit mounted on the ME chassis. Its low, compact body emphasises aerodynamic lines and is supplied with either a tinted canopy or a removable open-top cockpit; removing the canopy allows room for a driver figure or a more traditional open appearance. Switchable front and rear fender components permit use of the kit small-diameter tyres or, after fitting the alternate fender parts, separately sold large-diameter tyres.
The ME chassis follows the "Midship Evolution" concept and uses a double-shaft motor layout similar to earlier Tamiya double-shaft models. The ABS-molded chassis structure seeks to balance rigidity with controlled flex while keeping weight modest. Bumpers are separately molded items and assembly follows normal Mini 4WD procedures; low-friction 620 POM plastic bearings are used in places to improve rolling efficiency.
Cosmetic parts include fluorescent green and transparent smoke parts, silver 5-spoke wheels fitted with the kit small-diameter super hard low-profile tyres, and a set of dedicated stickers. The kit includes a double-shaft motor and a drivetrain configured at a 3.5:1 gear ratio. Two AA batteries are required for operation and are not included with the kit.
