• Riding on straight back linked to the two time 250cc and two time 350cc World Champion Kork Ballington's riding abilities, Kawasaki debuted in 500cc course Race Championship in 1980. He raced on a KR500 works machine which had an aluminum monocoque framework. It had a 498cc water-cooled square-four engine, and a totally independent back device suspension system system.
