The Tamiya 22039 - TA08 Lightweight Front One-Way Set (37T) replaces the standard front gear differential on TA08 4WD cars. It permits the front wheels to freewheel when decelerating and locks them under acceleration, aiding momentum through medium to high speed corners.
Unlike a gear diff or a spool, the one-way reduces braking forces at the front axle so the car sustains higher corner speeds through sweeping bends. It is not ideal for layouts with many sharp 180 degree turns where heavy braking is needed. Lower power motor choices usually pair best for controllable braking response.
With the one-way fitted the front wheels avoid drivetrain braking, which can improve launch and mid-corner stability. The lightweight pulley reduces rotating weight and helps the car react quicker to throttle inputs.
This one-way unit is compatible with TA08 PRO and can also be used on TA07 and TRF420 chassis family cars, offering adaptability across Tamiya touring car builds.
