The Tamiya 1/24 Honda Prelude XX model recreates the distinctive design and engineering of the second generation Prelude introduced in 1982. The production car gained praise for its front double wishbone suspension and rear MacPherson strut layout that together delivered steady handling and a refined ride. It was a front-wheel-drive coupe notable for a wide track and available 4-wheel anti-lock braking on some versions.
The road-going Prelude used a 1,829cc SOHC 4-cylinder engine with three valves per cylinder, generating 125 hp and reaching about 170 km/h. Tamiya's kit reproduces the wedge lines, retractable headlights and sunroof, letting model builders recreate the look in accurate scale.
This kit is suitable for both newer modellers and experienced hobbyists. It includes a detachable bonnet so the engine bay can be shown after the build. The headlight assemblies can be positioned up or down for display versatility and the tyres are made from synthetic rubber with a realistic tread pattern to enhance the finished model.
