Scale replica of the Nissan R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II in 1/24

The R34 Skyline GT-R V-Spec II is a celebrated sports car in automotive history. This Tamiya 1/24 kit recreates its silhouette and mechanical cues, providing a faithful small-scale representation for enthusiasts and collectors.

Period performance and distinguishing features

Launched in 1999, the R34 kept the GT-Rs reputation with its 2.6-litre twin-turbo straight-six and advanced all-wheel-drive system. The V-Spec II, introduced in October 2000, included upgrades such as enlarged rear brakes and a carbon fibre hood with a NACA duct that set it apart.

What to expect during assembly

Builders will find precise component fit and crisp surface detail. Suspension parts are modelled with realism, and the kit supplies clear glazing, solid rubber tyres with correct tread, and an interior laid out as right-hand drive to mirror the production vehicle.

Yes, the kit offers accurate proportions and detail suitable for display after careful painting and decal application. Attention to finishing makes a big difference.
Basic modelling skills cover most assembly steps, but precise painting and decal work benefit from intermediate techniques like masking and use of a fine brush or airbrush.
Soak decals briefly in warm water, slide into position, then use a decal softener if needed. Seal them under a clear coat to protect the finish.
Paints are not included. Refer to period photos for accurate colour matching and choose model paints suitable for plastic kits to replicate the original finish.
