• In 1988, Mercedes-Benz came ultimately back to motorsports tournaments once again after their withdrawal in 1955. The 1988 World Sportscar Championships, Mercedes joined the Sauber Team, and offered full factory help on group along with the C9, a company C model battle automobile.
