The actual Toyota Celica LB Turbo Gr.5 was campaigned in the 1977 DRM (Deutsche Rennsport Meisterschaft) and was based on the Celica Liftback. Distinctive features included pronounced overfenders, a large rear wing and extensive use of light body panels to meet Group 5 requirements. The competition car employed a heavily modified 2,090cc turbocharged inline-four with dual overhead cams, producing competitive power following its mid-1977 debut and achieving notable results versus its rivals.

The reissue updates the original moulds and adds a Cartograf decal sheet, a revised instruction leaflet and refreshed packaging. Sprues supply cockpit elements including a roll cage, a representational chassis underside and suspension parts. Mesh-style wheels are paired with solid synthetic rubber slick tyres. One driver figure is included and the decals offer multiple car number choices.

The kit presents an authentic late 1970s Group 5 Celica shape with the detail and decal choices required for historically accurate display models and collector presentations.
