The Type 3 Chi-Nu was one of Japan's late-war medium tanks, designed to improve upon the Type 97 Chi-Ha. Debuted in May 1944, it employed a 240hp Type 100 V-12 diesel engine and mounted a Type 3 75mm main gun intended to counter Allied armour such as the M4 Sherman. Around 200 vehicles were built and mostly retained on Japanese territory, where they did not engage Allied forces.
This Tamiya 1/35 kit recreates the Chi-Nu with accurate panel lines and includes four crew figures to help compose scenes. Fine Molds parts enhance small-scale realism, and the belt-type tracks are designed for easier fitting during construction.
