The Fieseler Fi156 Storch became well known for its exceptional short take-off and landing capability and saw service in liaison, observation and reconnaissance roles across World War II. Its fabric covered steel tube fuselage combined with wooden wings made it easy for other countries to operate or reproduce in the postwar period.
This Tamiya 1/48 kit recreates the Storch with accurate exterior lines and cockpit fidelity. Metal frame parts strengthen the wing and undercarriage, and photo-etched components enhance instrument and cockpit detail. The engine cowlings are removable so the Argus As10C engine can be displayed, and the kit offers choices for hatch position and flap settings to vary presentation.
The kit includes five marking schemes covering Swiss, Italian and Hungarian aircraft, plus canopy masks to help achieve neat glazing paintwork, resulting in a tidy and authentic model finish.
