The Tamiya 1/700 IJN Musashi kit recreates the imposing World War II battleship at a manageable scale. The real Musashi, named for the Musashi Province, served with Yamato as one of the largest battleships constructed, notable for its armament and displacement.
Musashi was built between 1938 and 1941 and was commissioned in 1942, operating under Admirals Isoroku Yamamoto and Mineichi Koga. During 1943 she was active in actions and responses to air strikes, and the model reflects key visual and structural aspects of the ship.
The kit features a finely moulded hull, multiple gun assemblies and deck fittings including cranes, flags and unassembled float planes. Lifeboats and a metal flotation part are included to boost realism. Tamiya includes a colour instruction sheet along with waterslide decals and step-by-step pictorial assembly guidance.
