The Tamiya 1/700 Japanese Aircraft Carrier Zuikaku kit offers a faithful scale rendition of a Shokaku-class carrier, aimed at modellers who value historical accuracy. The kit captures the carrier's late-war fitting and presents a realistic project for display or collection.
Completed in September 1941, Zuikaku served in major naval operations and was notable for a large air group and upgraded anti-aircraft armament later in the war. This release models the carrier with late-war equipment and includes aircraft types such as Mitsubishi A6M5 fighters and Yokosuka D4Y bombers.
Components are moulded in grey, black and red plastic to assist painting and detailing. The flight deck and superstructure show fine surface details, and the kit supplies aircraft, lifeboats and armaments so the finished model presents well on a shelf or within a larger diorama.
